A copy of Led Zeppelin’s third studio album ‘Led Zeppelin III’ which was released on October 4th 1970 that has been signed by the group on the gatefold in black ballpoint pen.
John Bonham has added the dedication ‘Best Wishes’ above his name and John Paul Jones has added the word ‘Love’ above his name. The autographs were signed in 1971. The album comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads, ‘During the 1960s and 1970s I was living in Aston Close, Pangbourne, Berkshire and knew the Road Manager of Led Zeppelin, Richard Cole, socially. At that time he was dating a friend of mine. Jimmy Page was living in The Boathouse, Pangbourne, which is where, I believe, the band Led Zeppelin was formed. Richard too lived locally in the village of Purley and I asked him if he would get my copy of Led Zeppelin III signed by all four band members for me to give to my young teenage sister, Mary (Griffiths maiden name, George/married name) as a birthday present. This, he was kind enough to do for me’.
