An incredibly rare fully signed Led Zeppelin concert poster for the group’s performance at the Town Hall, Birmingham which took place on January 7th 1970.
The poster has been signed by each member of the group in blue ballpoint pen. Each signature is extremely clear and bold and can easily be seen on the poster. Drummer John Bonham has signed the poster twice. As both Plant and Bonham both hailed from the Midlands the concert was dubbed a homecoming performance, the gig was also the opening night of Zeppelin's 1970 UK tour. They played a massive two and a half hour set at the venue without a break. The poster comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads, 'To whom it may concern. The autographed poster of the Led Zeppelin concert at Birmingham Town Hall was collected by me on the night of said concert. The two of John Bonham’s were done because when he signed it first he said he did not think it very good so signed it again. He was very friendly and gave away drum sticks, unfortunately I do not have mine. Robert Plant was reluctant to sign as he had already signed a poster and thought I was getting more than one. After a few words he signed and was OK. John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page just signed and said thanks and that was it. The show itself was typical Zeppelin. One point in the show Page spoke about the time he saw the Blues greats at the Town Hall then went on to play mouth harp’.
